Grade calculator
Enter each category or assignment with its score and weight. See your grade so far.
How a weighted grade works
Most syllabi say how much each category counts, such as homework 20%, quizzes 20%, midterm 25%. Multiply each score by its weight, add the results and divide by the total weight so far.
Example: homework 95 (20%), quizzes 88 (20%), midterm 82 (25%) and a project 90 (15%). The weights add to 80%, so the grade so far is (95 x 20 + 88 x 20 + 82 x 25 + 90 x 15) / 80 = 88.25%, a B+.
If the course is not finished
You do not need weights to add up to 100. Enter only what is graded, and the result is your grade on the work so far. When the final is still ahead, use the final grade calculator to see what you need.
Points-based classes
If your teacher grades by total points, divide the points you earned by the points possible with the test score calculator. If a category has several assignments, add up the points first and enter that percentage as one row.
